The seam of a coat
becomes a metaphor;
straight and tidy,
implying artistry.
You dressed yourself up today,
you said—
took yourself out
in royal blue.
Washington Square greets you
and Stanislavski beckons you
to become
any person you’d care to be today;
all while tailoring,
tailoring
straight and tidy;
steady,
steady.
